What's in a name? Just did a search, as I am sure everyone does, of my own name on Microsoft's new search engine Bing. (But it's not Google). Add a cricketer and an Austalian rules footballer to the list in the profile. I can not distinguish myself with a middle initial. Alan is all I am, not Al (though I'm not adamant about that).
